Modernizing how people give their time.
The ask
HelpingHand came to us with a mission. Make volunteering easier for individuals and more effective for the nonprofits that rely on them.
Most existing platforms were clunky, outdated, or designed for much larger organizations with more resources. Smaller nonprofits struggled with visibility and outreach, while volunteers had no easy way to find and commit to opportunities. HelpingHand needed a fresh, mobile-first solution that focused on neighborhood-level impact and a partner to help bring it to life.

From idea to execution, with purpose at every step.
Our role
Humain Co. partnered with HelpingHand to bring their vision from idea to reality. We led the end-to-end design and development process—from early-stage research and brand identity through to product design, MVP delivery, and launch strategy.

Our goal was to create a tool that nonprofits could rely on, and volunteers would actually want to use.

A launch-ready MVP, full brand system, and investor toolkit.
What we delivered
We partnered with the HelpingHand team to design and build a fully native iOS MVP using Xcode, Firebase, and Apple’s design system. The platform gave volunteers the ability to browse events, sync calendars, confirm attendance, and track hours. Nonprofits could easily create events, manage participants, and view real-time engagement through a lightweight, scalable system designed for growth. Alongside the product, we created a brand identity that made volunteering feel approachable, modern, and fun.

We also supported launch efforts outreach materials and branding toolkits to support early fundraising and partnership conversations. To further support early traction, we built a custom investor pitch deck focused on impactful visuals, clear storytelling, and lightweight information, designed to help the team communicate their vision confidently in early-stage fundraising and partnership conversations.

Early testing, use, and future-facing feedback.
The results
HelpingHand introduced its MVP through a small series of pilot events in collaboration with a local community organization. These early efforts allowed the team to test key features in a live environment, including event signups, calendar sync, and time tracking. Volunteers appreciated the simple, mobile-friendly experience, and nonprofit staff found value in having a clearer system to organize and monitor participation.

The MVP laid the groundwork for ongoing refinement and opened up valuable conversations around future partnerships and growth.
